Which Wich Review

By KARA SASIELA

Need a quick, delicious, and cheap meal?

Well if you’re tired from all the fried foods you get at normal fast food restaurants, I recommend going to Which Wich.

Which Wich is a different style sandwich restaurant where the name Which Wich, stands for which sandwich would you like?

It is similar to Subway, but they put their own twist on how you order.

When you walk in, there will be a bar with paper bags and sharpies on it for you to grab.

The menu will be hung over head, so you can see your choices as you construct your own personal sandwich.

The bag starts off by having you put the number of the kind of sandwich you would like.

Once that is picked, you select the kind of bread you want: white, wheat, lettuce, or a bowl wich.

Next, you decide if you want your wich hot or cold and select the size.

Which Wich if fairly cheap starting their smallest sandwich, which is 7 inches, at $5.50, their 10 and a half inch at $8.25, and their 14 inch at $11.

Then you select any extra toppings you would like on your sandwich including, cheeses, spreads and sauces, mustards, mayos, dressings, onions, veggies and more, and oils and spices.

Once your masterpiece is complete, you write your name on the bottom of the bag and simply give the bag to the employees, pay, and wait for your name to be called to receive your creation.

Their service is great and their food is even better than Subway.

Not only are they great at making sandwiches, but they also provide a great community service called Project PB&J.

This project allows Which Wich to help the community by providing PB&J’s in a natural disaster or even to  local businesses that need help.

Which Wich also helps support the troops by asking you to flag you bag.

This entails that you draw or write a message on the back of your bag in blue and red sharpies, give it to the employees at Which Wich and they will fill the bags with goodies and deliver it to service members and veterans.

The two Which Wich locations that are located closest to Missouri Baptist are at 1762 Clarkson Road Chesterfield, Mo and 11935 Manchester Road Des Peres, Mo.

Hope you’ll try this amazing restaurant the next time you’re out!!

Maggiano's Little Italy Review

By KARA SASIELA

Maggiano’s Little Italy is a fantastic Italian restaurant!

With delicious food and great service, Maggiano’s is great for a classy date night with your significant other.

The prices are a little more expensive with a single dish ranging from 13-15 dollars, but just right for a special occasion.

They have special’s like Marco’s Meal for two, in which you can order an appetizer, two dishes of any classic pasta, a dessert, and get two dishes to go for only 40 dollars as well as the Family Menu which includes, 3 appetizers or salads, 4 pastas or entrees, and 2 desserts for only $28.95!

Their menu includes famous Italian dishes like: Spaghetti, Four-Cheese Ravioli, Chicken Parmesan, Mom’s Lasagna, and, my personal favorite, Fettuccine Alfredo.

When going to Maggiano’s, you may see customers in anything from jeans and a T-Shirt to semi-formal wear.

Their setting is quaint and lit with soft lights, great for a romantic setting!

Maggiano’s is great for special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day, and even wedding proposals.

In fact, my brother proposed to his girlfriend at Maggiano’s!

They were kind enough to let him pose as a waiter and bring out the bread for his fiancee and her friends.

Maggiano’s is usually pretty busy so you may want to call in a reservation at 314-824-2402.

They also accept walk-ins, but be prepared for a possible wait.

Maggiano’s Little Italy is located at # 2 The Boulevard Saint Louis, Richmond Heights, Missouri and is right across the street from the Saint Louis Galleria Mall.

Hope to see you there soon!

Crown Candy Kitchen Review

By KARA SASIELA

Crown Candy Kitchen is a unique, old-fashioned, cheap restaurant special to the St. Louis area.

Their lunch and dinner menu consists mostly of sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, and chili.

They have simple sandwiches like a Grilled Cheese and more notable creations like their most popular sandwich, the Heart Stopping Blt, which is layered with a wall of bacon so high it may be hard to bite into.

You can also have one of their famous malts or shakes to drink with your meal, but be careful: they’re 24 ounces and are tough to finish.

They also have plenty of other ice cream desserts to choose from after your meal.

If you don’t feel like ice cream you can always buy some of their homemade candy or take some for the road.

The options of candy are limitless!

They have chocolate, assorted chocolates, chocolate shaped figures, jawbreakers, toffee, and much more.

All of this food is really cheap and you get plenty to eat.

The sandwiches range from 5 to 9 dollars, the malts and shakes are about $5, and the candy depends on if you buy single items or their set boxes of candy.

Crown Candy Kitchen had fantastic service and everyone was extremely friendly and willing to help.

This restaurant has an old feel to it considering that they opened in 1913 and haven’t changed the look of the restaurant much.

They have old style booths, a jukebox, and low lighting.

They are located in Old North St. Louis at 1401 St. Louis Ave, St. Louis,Mo.

Matthias' Lot Church Review

By KARA SASIELA

New school, new city, new church.

If you’re new to the area and seeking a church to go to while at college, I recommend Matthias’ Lot Church.

It is a non-denominational Christian Church that targets college students and young adults, but everyone is welcomed at Matthias.

When they first started out, they decided they wanted to create a church that would attract college students to help prevent them from falling away from church.

Matthias believes that the Bible is the word of God written by men through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

The pastor, Marc Sikma, preaches the scripture verse by verse trying to stay true to what God is saying, as well as encouraging us to make our own interpretations of the scripture.

I personally think that Sikma is great.

I can tell that he is well-connected to God and only preaches what God is calling him to say.

He is humble, admitting his faults, and will be straight with members, sugar coating nothing.

The band is another great thing about Matthias that is geared towards young adults.

The music is loud, but just right for us young adults, and they put together great worship songs.

Matthias meets on Wednesday nights at either 6:45 or 8:30.

They also meet on Sunday mornings at 10:30 in the homes of different leaders called Lot Families.

Matthias also has a website and app where you can listen to any sermons that you may have missed.

Matthias is located in St. Charles at 2645 West Clay.

Not Just Another Spy Movie

By KARA SASIELA

Kingsman: The Secret Service is a great action movie that will keep you on your toes!

This movie follows the story of young englishman Eggsy, played by Taron Egerton, as he is picked
to go through training to enter into the Kingsman.

As he focuses on his training, his mentor Harry, played by Colin Firth, tries to stop a terrorist and the threat that he brings to the whole world.

This movie is filled with incredible action sequences like you’ve never seen them before.

Not only is this movie packed with action but it is completed by clever characters that bring in humor and still keeps the seriousness of the situation.

This movie was rated R for strong violence, language, and some sexual content.

It did really well opening weekend making 42 million dollars and receiving 8 stars out of 10.

Hope you enjoy Kingsman!

From Servant To Princess

By KARA SASIELA

If you’re a die hard Disney fan, then I recommend going to see the new Cinderella movie starring Lily James as the iconic Cinderella and Richard Madden as the dashing Prince.

It’s the classic tale that we have all heard before, but with a few twists to it.
Young Ella and her father must move on after the death of her mother.

Several years later, her father remarries a widow with two daughters the same age as Ella. Soon after, her father sadly dies on the road.

Her stepmother and sisters quickly start to take advantage of Ella and she becomes more of a servant to them.

Working hard, she fell asleep by the fire getting soot on her face.

Her stepsisters jump at the chance to make fun of her and give her the nickname Cinderella.

Out riding her horse, she meets a young man on a hunting trip.

She did not recognize him as the Prince and he decided not to reveal his identity so she would not treat him any differently.

He was entranced by her character and hoped to see her again.

The Prince threw a ball and invited all the women living in the region.

Cinderella was excited to go, but her stepmother and sisters quickly stepped in ripping her dress to prevent her from going.

Her fairy-godmother appears to her and provides a coach and new dress for Cinderella to have a magical night at the ball.

Once there, the Prince immediately recognizes her, and dances and talks with her all night.

When the clock struck midnight, ending the spell on the coach and dress, Cinderella rushes out of the palace leaving only a glass slipper behind.

The Prince is determined to find and marry her, so travels through the kingdom having every maiden try on the shoe.

Finally, at the last house, he finds Cinderella and they have their happy ending.

The movie was great receiving a 7.8 out of 10 stars and earning about 95 million dollars opening weekend.

However, the movie lacked the songs sung in the classic Disney version of Cinderella like, A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes, So This is Love, and Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.

Even though the movie did not include these, they did really well creating the world of Cinderella.

Hope you enjoy it too!

The War On Divergents

By KARA SASIELA
If you saw Divergent, then you’ll definitely want to see the second movie in the series, Insurgent!

Insurgent picks up right where the first movie ended.

Tris, played by Shailene Woodley, and Four, played by Theo James, are rounding up survivors from the Dauntless Faction in order to face Jeanine, who is portrayed by Kate Winslet, and make it safe for Divergents to live among the people.

Meanwhile, Jeanine is searching for the perfect Divergent to open up a message she believes will help rid the world of Divergents and bring peace to the city.

When Jeanine learns the one she is looking for is Tris, she will stop at nothing to capture and use her to unlock this message.

The group faces death and betrayal in their quest for freedom.

Will they overcome Jeanine and gain the freedom they are seeking?

Go see Insurgent to find out!

The movie did great receiving 7  out of 10 stars and earning 52 million opening weekend.

The movie is slightly slow in the beginning, but picks up and even throws in some unexpected twists!

Hope you enjoy the movie!

Love Without Surrender

By KARA SASIELA

I love rainbows. God created rainbows to represent His promise to us that He will never send another great flood that wipes out humanity.

Now the world is distorting this image for gay rights.

The reason God sent the flood in the first place was because humanity had strayed so much from God’s law and the corruption was so great that God sent the flood to start a clean slate with a righteous family.

Reference Genesis 6:11-14.

11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress[a] wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.

And Genesis 9:13-17.
13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. 16 Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
17 So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

Genesis 9:13-17 shows the creation of the first rainbow and, yes, it represents love. However, God is showing his love for humanity by never wiping us from the face of the earth again, no matter how far from Him we wander.

By legalizing gay marriage we are well on our way from abandoning God in our nation.

To non-believers, this probably isn’t a big deal, but to Christians this breaks our hearts.

Our nation was founded on protestant beliefs, but as the years pass, we slowly progress to becoming a Godless nation, and a Godless nation is one of chaos, sin, and self-destruction.

As Christians, we know what is right and wrong according to our Lord and Savior, which is why we won’t surrender our beliefs and principles to those fighting against us.

God calls us to obey man’s law as His own, except for when it conflicts with His law.

Reference Romans 13:1-7.
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. ...

And Acts 5:29.
But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.

So, like those fighting for gay rights, we don’t beg acceptance, but tolerance of our beliefs. Don’t call us haters or homophobic just because we don’t agree with you.

We love the people who are homosexual, but we can never accept and support their belief because according to God, homosexuality is a sin.

Reference 1 Timothy 1:10-11.
The sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.

I’m not saying that homosexuals are the only sinners. I am a sinner. The difference though, is that I have been saved by God’s love and mercy so will spend an eternity with my Father in Heaven, but those living in sexual immorality will spend an eternity in Hell.

As Christians we are called to share God’s love with everyone and by knowing God personally, we want to share Him with others.

This is why standing up for what we believe in is so important to us. Because we love homosexuals, but not homosexuality, we don’t want them to spend eternity in Hell.

We want to spread the message that it is a sin, but they can still repent and be saved by God’s grace.

This does not mean that you won’t sin or that you won’t be tempted, but that you begin a relationship with the one who created you and He will forgive you of these sins, but if you don’t believe in Him, or that what you are doing is wrong, you can’t be forgiven.

Reference Romans 6:23.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God loves everyone, but we live in a corrupt world full of sin and those who don’t accept God into their hearts will be judged in end times.

This is why our mission is so important. This is why we call out to you in love and hope that you will listen to us openly even if you still don’t agree with our belief.

I know there are Christians who do come at homosexuals with hate and for that I apologize, it is not what we are called to do.

Please treat Christians in the same respect that I am trying to treat you with. Though, if you choose to hate, we are prepared. For God warns us that by following Him, we will be persecuted and mocked, but sharing God’s Word is just that important.

I pray in hope for the people of the world to come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior so I may call them brothers and sisters and see them in Heaven.
